February 6th, I leave for London to begin my 13th year of touring across the pond. Over the years, I’ve played shows in England, Scotland, Wales, Ireland, Belgium, Luxembourg, Holland, Sweden, France and Italy. The upcoming tour will be a “short run” of only 15 concerts over a month’s time. Gone are the days of playing 40-65 shows in up to 3 months on the road. A month is a very comfortable time length for me now.
Again this tour, I’ll be accompanied by my old friend and frequent tour companion London guitarist Geoff Haves. I met him at least 15 years ago when he, his wife and I were on the same bill at the now defunct 12 Bar Blues Club in London. After hearing him play with their ensemble, I asked him if he’d like to sit in with me for my show. He’s one of those marvelous musicians who doesn’t need to know the song to play the perfect parts.
He and his wife Janis have been the duo of Haves And Haves for years, and they will open 4 out of the first 5 shows on this tour. Not only are they close musical friends but are also very dear personal friends of mine with me staying with them for different lengths of time almost every tour. Thats one of the best gifts I’ve gotten over the years of these tours…great friends who open their homes and their hearts to me. Geoff and Janis are just the best.
Below is the tour poster with the venue dates and locations. I know I’ll be seeing many familiar faces as well as new folks, so please come out to see us when we are in your part of England and Scotland. I’ll be easy to recognize…I’ll be the guy with the great big smile cause I’ll be so happy to be back in the UK.
